Worship Services

Our worship services offer a place to study the Bible, worship God, and grow together in a community built on God’s grace and faith in Jesus. Most worship services are held weekly, usually on Sunday. There are also ministry opportunities throughout the week offering activities such as prayer groups, family events, youth character building programs and meetings for seniors.

The Salvation Army is answering and sharing God’s call in creative and unique ways across the nation—such as the thriving Dinner Church in Kansas City’s Prospect Ave community. Watch a video to see how they share their innovative approach to nurturing spiritual growth and engagement in worship within their community.

Spiritual Support

In addition to regular worship services, our local corps officers (pastors) provide pastoral care, guiding individuals through personal struggles, spiritual growth, and life changes.

The Salvation Army provides a network of chaplains  to support people in need during disaster recovery, in hospitals and correctional facilities, helping individuals find hope and restoration through faith in Jesus.

Similarly, our Adult Rehabilitation Centers (ARC) and Harbor Light Centers  integrate spiritual counseling into their programs to individuals struggling with a range of spiritual, emotional or physical challenges, which can include substance abuse.

Correctional Ministry

Jesus said, “When I was in prison, you came to visit me.” It is with that same spirit, we provide a wide range of Christ-centered outreach, including church services, to those who are incarcerated to return to productive lives.

Since the 1920s The Salvation Army Southern Territories’ Corrections Ministry has provided programs to encourage growth and support in the spiritual, educational, and emotional lives of inmates. From Bible correspondence courses to prerelease job training programs, we take God’s love behind bars to help the healing process with a renewed life purpose. Together, we work to restore hope to inmates, their families, and their communities.

Women's Ministries

The Salvation Army Women’s Ministries exist to give leaders resources for encouraging, supporting, discipling, and training women of all ages, life stages, and backgrounds to follow the mission of Jesus Christ.

We believe this happens best as women gather together in worship services in the name of God to impact their family, their community, and their world.

The Salvation Army’s 11 Articles of Faith

  • The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments were given by inspiration of God, and that they only constitute the Divine rule of Christian faith and practice
  • There is only one God, who is infinitely perfect, the Creator, Preserver, and Governor of all things, and who is the only proper object of religious worship
  • There are three persons in the Godhead - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, undivided in essence and co-equal in power and glory
  • In the person of Jesus Christ, the Divine and human natures are united, so that He is truly and properly God and truly and properly man
  • Our first parents were created in a state of innocence, but by their disobedience, they lost their purity and happiness, and that in consequence of their fall, all men have become sinners, totally depraved, and as such are justly exposed to the wrath of God
  • The Lord Jesus Christ has, by His suffering and death, made an atonement for the whole world so that whosoever believes in Him may be saved
  • Repentance toward God, faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, and regeneration by the Holy Spirit are necessary to salvation
  • We are justified by grace through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and that he that believeth hath the witness in himself
  • Continuance in a state of salvation depends upon continued obedient faith in Christ
  • It is the privilege of all believers to be wholly sanctified, and that their whole spirit and soul and body may be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ
  • In the immortality of the soul, in the resurrection of the body, in the general judgment at the end of the world, in the eternal happiness of the righteous, and in the endless punishment of the wicked
We desire to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ, wherever and whenever we can.

We desire to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ, wherever and whenever we can.
